Food insecurity continues to worsen due to inflation and high gas prices. Indianapolis, IN, (July 22, 2022) -- Private industry is stepping up in a big way to support an innovative food access delivery system starting in Marion County. Faith Hope and Love Community (FHL) will launch its second Missional Neighborhood Hub (MNH) grocery deliveries by partnering with DoorDash’s Project DASH at The Father’s Table Missional Food Pantry located at Cross Church at 4540 Madison Ave., Indianapolis, IN 46227 on July 27th. Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett will be present during the Ribbon-Cutting starting at 2 pm.

"This is a very vulnerable time for many people in our community. They are afraid and their families are hungry. Food insecurity locally is real. With the help from the private sector, like DoorDash, we are going to do our part to serve families with food and hope," said Merlin Gonzales, President of FHL. “We are honored to partner with the Faith Hope and Love Community to broaden food access in Indianapolis,” said Brittany Graunke, Director, DoorDash Drive. “Local delivery has helped food banks and food pantries provide food and other essentials to their clients in a convenient way that emphasizes dignity. We’re excited to continue growing this work in a sustainable way for our food bank and food pantry partners across the country and continue to meet the ongoing need.”

FHL and DoorDash are partnering to help people experiencing food insecurity in Indiana by delivering food to people who are home-bound, do not have a vehicle, face mental and physical disabilities, or are unable to access charitable food due to work schedules that barely allow them to make ends meet.

The Faith Hope and Love Community team is gearing up to offer the opportunity to the community to be a part of this revolutionary approach to food access and food justice. The goal of FHL is to make deliveries of up to 1000 grocery boxes a week by the end of 2022 by opening several “Missional Neighborhood Hubs,” – pick up sites across the city. Anyone may provide cash donations, food and grocery items, equipment, or even volunteer, to make this happen. Cash donations may be made at: https://www.fhlcommunity.org/fhl-giving/ OR Mail to 1100 W. 42nd St. Ste365, Indianapolis, IN 46208
