(INDIANAPOLIS) – Indy’s latest program to make sure people have healthy food to eat is a food pantry on wheels.
The Fay Biccard Glick Neighborhood Center’s food pantry serves 80-to-100 seniors a week on Indy’s north and west sides. Executive director Patrice Duckett says the pandemic underscored the need for delivery options, and says the center didn’t have the staffing to deliver to all its clients. Now the center is partnering with DoorDash and the nonprofit Faith, Hope and Love Community to tap DoorDash’s driver network to make those deliveries.
